Why Karate?
|
Why should I study Karate?
We all know the benefits of regular exercise. These include reduction of stress, blood pressure control and a boost to the immune system apart from a general feeling of well being. Karate training includes flexibility training; can be practiced alone or in groups; we encourage families to participate.
Karate does not require specialized expensive equipment.
Age and size of the participants are not that important. Young and old and “middle age” are taught at suitable levels for their bodies. Karate is a life long sport.
Will I get Hurt?
As in any form of exercise there is always the possibility of doing too much too soon. The workouts are designed to the level of the student.
The shotokan system teaches the student to have control over their body movement and there is little contact during shotokan workouts. At beginner level there is no contact.

The
ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat but perfection of the
characters of the participants.
